Planning & Solutions

Listen Strategize Advise Implement

Your personalized financial plan can takes shape in our first three meetings:

First, we mail you a preliminary wealth and financial planning questionnaire, including a document checklist, which helps us prepare for our meeting. When we get together, we review these materials with you—and listen. Our purpose is to assist in identifying your objectives in order to determine the appropriate level of planning should you wish to proceed with us.

Second, we review financial projections illustrating your current situation in terms of cash flow, taxes, and net worth—figures that represent the foundation of comprehensive wealth and planning strategies. This meeting also makes certain we are looking at and capturing all pertinent information.

Third, we present both written and quantitative analysis, graphic representations, and an action plan of recommendations. We also present current and future scenarios for you outlining whatever situation or decision you may be facing.

Your Solutions

Your plan can begin to take concrete shape when, together, we make decisions on solutions and implement them.

Whether you are early in your career, actively contemplating retirement, or already retired, Law & Associates’ seasoned professionals can help ensure you have the resources you need for the retirement lifestyle you desire. We offer a comprehensive range of retirement planning services, as well as savings options that permit both tax-deductible contributions and tax-deferred earnings.

The tumultuous period of a divorce is the time you most need clear-headed, independent, and impartial support to help you make decisions that may impact you for years to come. Law & Associates’ Barbara Heft, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, can help clarify financial issues around division of assets, Social Security benefits, retirement plans, insurance policies, and other concerns that may seem simple on the surface but can be replete with differing consequences.

Education Funding
However your family chooses to approach the funding of higher education, planning is critical. We can provide you with solutions that include custodial accounts for minors, section 529 college savings plans, sophisticated trusts, and more.

Legacy and Estate
Effective legacy planning requires both the right vehicles – such as trusts, wills, and insurance – combined with the prudent selection, balance, and placement of investments. With the extensive array of tax, trust, and financial planning expertise we have at hand, Law & Associates, Inc. can help implement your estate solution as we work along with your tax and legal advisors.

Tax Planning
We review and analyze our clients' tax projections at every regularly scheduled meeting.

Small Business
We provide business owners with specific solutions that meet the challenge of managing a company, often their most important asset. We can help you develop, implement, and monitor a retirement or benefit plan that suits the needs of your business and employees, provide valuation analyses, and find appropriate insurance coverage for your company.

Cash Management
We can help you choose the tools you need to manage your ongoing cash needs and develop scenarios for analyzing projections.

Risk Management
We offer a wide range of insurance programs that can be designed to not only protect you but also, in specific situations, provide you with tax and wealth transfer benefits.

There are many more tools we use to help build the framework for your financial future.

There is no assurance that any investment strategy will be successful. Investing involves risk and investors may incur a profit or a loss. Asset allocation and diversification do not ensure a profit or protect against a loss. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

Please note, changes in tax laws or regulations may occur at any time and could substantially impact your situation. While we are familiar with the tax provisions of the issues presented herein, we are not qualified to render advice on tax or legal matters. You should discuss any tax or legal matters with the appropriate professional.

Implementation & Fees

When you have had an opportunity to consider our strategy, we discuss how to proceed.

Several years ago, we instituted a retainer system as a continuation of our wealth and financial management process. This system provides for annual, semi-annual, or quarterly reviews depending on individual needs. A regular review sets the moment for all of us to focus on the various components of your financial situation. Updating this each year keeps us abreast of life changes and helps us respond more effectively to you. The review also provides a lively discussion of the markets and current economic conditions and how these external factors affect your particular situation.

Fees for the wealth management and financial planning process are quoted at the initial meeting. Annual retainer fees, billed after the first of the year, are based on a calendar year. We also are available on an hourly fee basis for consultations or more focused planning.

Given certain limitations, financial planning and investment advisory fees may be deductible as a miscellaneous expense on your federal tax return. You should discuss any tax or legal matters with the appropriate professional.

We welcome any and all questions and would be pleased to meet with you for a complimentary consultation.

USA Patriot Act
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money-laundering activities, the USA Patriot Act requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person (including business entities) who opens an account. When you open an account with us, we will ask for your name, physical address, date of birth, taxpayer identification number, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents. We will let you know if additional information is required.
